Why won't my map appear properly?
Is your map is showing a blank grey screen but then showing an error like this: "Sorry, there was a problem activating this map."?
If so, then it usually means one of two things...
- Your account is missing a Mapbox Access Token.
- Your Mapbox Access Token is not configured properly.

Incorrect Mapbox Permissions
If you have installed your Mapbox Access Token but your map is still not appearing, it is almost always because you have incorrect settings on your Mapbox Access Token.
If you used the "Default public token", then this should not be a problem and you should contact support for further assistance. However, if you created a new access token with specific permissions/scopes, then it is often the case that they are not set up properly.
To ensure error-free use of your Mapbox token for the foreseeable future, the simplest solution is to remove any URL restrictions on your access token. If your are uncomfortable with this, then try to add "https://closeby.co" to the list of URLs, since Closeby will display your map from its domain (not your website) when it is being embedded in iframes.
